The Parade Ground of the Alcazar is the organizational center of the fortress and has served, now as before, for both military and festive celebrations.

It’s a splendid piece of unmistakable Herrera style scent. It was built by Francisco de Mora by personal order of Felipe II in 1587, although it is reasonable to assume the intervention of Juan de Herrera himself in its design, since he was the director of the Royal constructions and therefore, with whom Mora had to inform about all the projects.
