Canon belonging to the Museum of the army, on deposit for exhibition in the rooms of the Alcazar dedicated to the Royal College of artillery. It is a 86 mm caliber Cannon with its gun carriage. The revolutionary striped of its bore (the hollow of the cannon) should be highlighted, being one of the most significant advances of the last period of the Royal College in the Alcazar.
The Museum, opened on June 14, 1996, recalls the almost one hundred years in which the Alcazar of Segovia was the headquarters of the Royal College of artillery, since its founding in 1764 until the fire of March 6, 1862, when it moved to the convent of San Francisco of Segovia, where continues until today under the name of artillery Academy. This makes it the oldest active military Officer Training Centre in the world.
