This splendid hunting crossbow of 1572 was acquired by the Board of Trustees of the Alcazar in 1961. It is armed with a band or piece of iron which was used to engage a cogwheel and mounted with a small, metal arrow (special for crossbows).
The box is made of wood and ivory and shows at its sides a drawing of great imperial Eagle engraved in ivory. It is located in the Alcazar’s Armory, protected by a glass vitrine.
